NELSON CARNIVAL.

NELSON, February 3. At yesterday's Carnival proceedings the swimming resulted : 200 Championship: Bell, Auckland 1; Freyburg, Wellington, 2; Dawson. Dunedin, 3. Time, 2miu 54 4-58eo. One Mile: Fray burg, Wellington, 1; Rich, Opawa, 2; Bull, Christchurcu, 3. In the final of tha Water Polo Waugauui. defeated Nelson by four goals to two. In the evening there was an illuminated procession of motor launches in the port, and a great Band and Fire Brigades illuminated procession concluding with a Masquerade Carnival with dancing, in Trafalgar street. The Mayor and the Hon. Mills gave short addresses, and the Carnival ended.
