ONE OF BEN HALL'S GANG.

SYDNEY, January 31.

Johnny Vane, the last of the Ben Hall gang of bushrangers, died ia the Cowra Hospital. Vane had latterly been engaged iu farming work. (Ben Hall was the leader of a notorious gang of bushrangers in the sixties. The gang was finally broken up about 1863 after their leader was shot. Hall met his death one morning near the plaoe where he and his gang were camped. He was catching a horse when he was discovered by some police. Hall leaped on the horse's back and endeavoured to escape, but ou reaohing a clump of bush, ran into' another posse of police, and the latter, tiring a volley, literally riddled Hall with bullets).
