FIRE BRIGADES CONFERENCE.
NELSON, January 30. At tbe Fire Brigades Conference tbe following officers were'elected: •—President, Captain Beilringer, of New Plymouth; Vice-Presidents, 1 Seoretary Gilberd and Superintendent Luoas. The delegates present subscribed to present a chair to the Nelson Hospital.
The Brigades' Aooident Assurance Society also met. The report showed the since last, meefc-7 ing, to .be £1,085, including the balance brought forward. The expenditure total)ed £lll lis, of which £lOl was paid in aooident olaims, against' £257 the previous year. The profits for the year were nearly £9O. An amended scale of contributions was adopted. The Committee reported that the olaim of'the Reeffcon . Brigade on behalf of Fireman Potts, for - accident allowance could not be entertained. The report was adopted. Secretary Soanlebury, of Reefton, was elected President, Messrs-King and Boyes, of Nelson,, Vice-Presidents. Mr Gilberd, of Napier, was reelected Secretary, and Treasurer, and Messrs Garner and Hodgsons auldtors. y . "
