Thu Maaterton portion of the Outward mail is made up on Wednesday Afternoon prior to the Wellington soling date, and a supplementary mail is despatched, closing *t 5.30 a.m. on Thursday foliowi ng, connecting with the steamer at New Plymouth. The Inward m til is due at Masterton by the 10.0 p m. on the same 'late as at Wellington. MASTERTON TELEGRAPH HOURS. The office hours for telegraph work, at Masterton, are from 9 a.m. to 5.p.m., and from 7 p.m. to midnight daily (Saturday excepted). Sundays from 5 to "5.30 p.m. Holidays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 7 p.m. to midnight. Telephone Exchange is open from 8 a.m. to 1 midnight daily (Sundays excepted). On Good Friday and Christmas Day the hours are: 9 to 10 a.m. only rXtes of postage. (From the N.Z. Postal Guide).
