Mr W. I. Husband, land agent, Pahiatua, advertises particulars of a property of 600 aores (occupation with right of purchase) situated on tne WoodvilJe-Aohanga Road. The property is particularly good grazing oountry, and is considered to be a bargain at the price offered. Messrs Turner aud Turner, who some months ago started hot luncheons at their Tip Top Tea Rooms in Queen Street, have found that their enterprising efforts have been well rewarded. The rooms have been well patronised from the commencement by both town and oountry residents. Everything is run on up-to-date lines, and strict attention is paid to the wants of patrons. Griffin, of Upper Tutaenui, is credited with having shorn thirty sh9ap in an hour, and an average of twenty-eight sheep per hour for a day's work. The quantity of gas manufactured atjthe Masterton gasworKs during the month of December waa 913,300 cubio feet, being an increase of 141,100 cubic feet over the quantity manufactured in December, 1904. The Borough Council last evening decided to purchase a new watercart. The cart will ba built in Christchurch on the latest lines, and will oosfc £9O. It is expected to arrive in Masterton in "about three weeks 1 time. The Mayor aud Town Clerk were authorised at last evening's special meeting of the Borough Council to visii Wellington next; week to make arrangements to raise tho loan recently sanctioned by the ratepayers. A party of Wellington people who vißited the Picton Sounds during the holidays had a novel and somewhat precarious experience. They started to walk to a given place, and, misled by a persistent guide, found themselves late in the day on the edge of a small river, with the alternative of walkiagtwelve miles round or swimming it, with a mile walk afterwards. A communication was reoeived from the New Zealand Empoyers' Federation as to whether 'Employers' Associations generally should attend the proposed Conference of Employers and Employees. After some discussion the following resolution was passed:—"That this Asosoiation is still of opinion that the Conference should j be held, and will result in good and that the Employers' Associations should send delegates."
