EKETAHUNA NEWS.
(Prom Our Own Correspondent). EKETAHUNA, Jan. 16. Mr F. J. Redmond, who has been transferred from Eketahuna to the Wellington branch of the W.F.C.A., was yesterday presented by the local staff with a travelling rug. The opening of the Vicarage of the Parochial District of Eketabuna is to take place on Saturday afternoon next, when a public reception will be held. The Bishop of Wellington will be present. The first kiln of 50,000 bricks has been barned by the Eketahuua Brick and Tile Company. The bricks have turned out satisfactorily. Residents are already complaining of their tanks running dry, which is rather a now departure for Eketabuna, When half the township has been swept away by Are' residents will probably wake up to the faot that a water supply is required. Local bodies and badly treated settlers are just now cramming themselves with explosive speeches for Mr Seddon, when he visits us this month. The County Council has made a grant of £5 to the local readingroom.
