Hams .. 7£ Bacon 7d Cheese .. 5| W.F.C.A. report— Butter 6£d to STOCK SALE, The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report, at their fortnightly stock sale at Eketahuna yesterday, a full yarding of cattle of all classes, bidding under the hammer was not brisk, but □early the whole of the entries changed hands oafore the close of the day. In sheep our entries were confined to three pens of fat ewes, all of whoh sold at top rates. We penned pigs of all sizes, every lot meeting with a ready sale, a dairy of upwards of 30 cows sold well, considering the time they had been in milk. Light beof cows and heifers made from 60s to 85s, forward cows and belfers 42s to 50s, 2-year steers 60s, yearlings 30s to 395, 2-year heifers 45s to 555, yearlings 25s to 35a, fat ewes lis 6:1 to I2s\ Dd. Pigs —Sows 27a to 3os, porkera 16s 6d to 255, weaners lis to 12s. Dairy cows and heifers 60s to 105s. EKETAHUNA STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and C 0.,. Ltd., held their fortnightly sale at the Eketahuna yards yesterday. Only a few sheep came forward, but cattle were yarded in large numbers, most of the sheep pens also being required for their accommodation. The attendance of buyers was good, and bidding showed more spirit than usual, and as vendors were reconciled to ruling prices, practically a total clearance was made under she hammer. Pigs were well represented, all selling at good values. Prices were:—Four-tooth ewes 13s, mixed hoggets lis 5d to 12s lOd, heifers 555, 12,t0 18-month heifers 29a 6d, fat heifers 92s 6d, fat cows 86b, cows in milk 60s. 2year steers 50s 6d, 18-month steers 445, porker pigs 18s to 265, good slips 15s, empty sows 23s to 265, hack and saddle horse £9, good buggy horse £lB. WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. Levin and Co., Ltd., report:—At the third' sale of the season 9400 bales were offered, our catalogue representing 2250 bales. There was a large attendance of buyeis, and oidding was extremely soirited. After the sale on December 8, there was a distinct lull in prices, but today prices came round again, and were up to the December sale level, and buyers were operating with more vim. Lambs' wool sold up to 10)£d for good qualities; extra superior lines would bring even higher figures. We quote:—Halfbreds, lOd to 11 ; extra superior orossbreds, lo%d (few offering); medium crossbreds 9)£d to coarse crossbreds, 9d to 9V£d; inferior and logstaioed. B)4d to 9d ; pieces and bellies, 6d to 3d to 4%d; good lambs wool to 10% d; medium lambs, B%d to 9d; seedy lambs, no demand. Dalgety and Co., Ltd.. report having held their third sale of the season in the Art Gallery yesterday. There was a large and representative attendance of buyers. The total offering comprised about 9000 bales as against 8000 at the corresponding sale last year. Our catalogue totalled 1680 bales. Bidding was very spirited throughout the sale, and a large portion was sold under the hammer. Fine and bright crossbreds were slightly easier in price, but other sorts were firm at laet sale rates. For one parcel of lambs we realised 11% d, which topped the market. Pieces, dead wool, etc., were firm at late rates. The following were prices realised, and we also give in brackets prices ruling at the January sale of last year:—Fine and bright crossbred, lOd to 10J49 (dd to 9%d); medium crossbred, B%d to 9%d (7%d to 8%d); inferior and dingy crossbred, 7%d to B%d (7d to superior lambs, to inferior, 8d to 9%d (7d to lambs, seedy, 7d to 7%d; bellies and pieces, 6%d to 7%d (5d to 6%d); dead, 7d to locks, 3d to 4%d (3d to Our next sale is fixed for February 15. Prices, : aa compared with December sales, were easier for the special super lines, but not much difference was observable in the values of ordinary lots., Merino and fine halfbrcds sold well at par to advance, while ordinary and inferior crossbreds did not suffer the deoHue which was anticipated, but sold up to within a farthing of .December rates. Lambs of good quality sold at up to while pio:es, bellies, locks and oddments sold at fairly satisfactory prices.
