FORTHCOMING AMATEUR MEETING. Great interest is being manifested in the sports meeting of the Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Association, to.be held "n the Park on the 22nd instant, and the Wellington Centre have expressed the opinion, that it will be one of the most representa tive meetings held for some time. Among the competitors will be F. B. Goodbehere. one of the three men who beat Duffey; Fisher, the 440 yards ohampion; Craig, of Wanganu», the champion hurdler of New Zealand, and Prendeville and Pollock, from Wellington. No l«ss than 46 men from the Butt and Wellington will appear, and representatives will be present from Timaru, Palmerston North and Nelson. The handicaps, which are being made by Mr W. Larkin, in Wellington, will appear in this paper shortly. The Committee are sparing no pains to make their initial meeting a suocess, and pleasure-seeker? should not over-look this chance of a, good day's sport. For besides the foot events there will be bicycle races, etc. The Masterton Brass Band will be m attendance. All competitors must be in the hands of the starter five minutes before the advertised time of starting, and a lack of punctuality will cost them their uhances in the event. The competitors are further reminded that they cannot start unless they have secured their regulation certificate from the Secretary.
