A DISQUIETING REPORT.
STOCK DISEASE IN TARANAKI. NE'V PLYMOUTH, Jan. 9. There is a serious outbreak of contagious abortion among the dairy herds in Tarauaki. In some herds in Southern Tarauaki from thirty to forty yer cent, of the animals have been incapacitated. It is urged that the Government should immediately prohibit the exposure of diseased stock at sale yards, the practice being to get rid of affected animals by this means. The Veterinary Department are alive to the threatening danger, and are doing everything in their power to arrest the progress of the trouble.
