In an action, the cause of which was flagrant misuse of our firm name and other gross misrepresentation by an imitating company, which was tried before his Honor, Ch'ef Justice J. Madden, K.C.M.G., L.L.D., in the Supreme Court, at Melbourne, the proseoution showed:— 1. That Sander and Sons' Pure Volatile Eucalypti Extract contains all medical constituents of the eucalypti, in a highly refined and pure form. 2. That it is much more powerfully healing (antiseptic) than ordinary eucalyptus preparations. 3. That it does not depress the h9art like ordinary eucalyptus preparations. 4. That it contains no harmful ingredients, and 5. That it is highly commended by many authorities for the last 30 years as a safe, reliable and effective remedy. Some imitators have tried to deceive the public by simulating our get-up; others have relied on the "just as good" game. Therefore take care and oDtain the GENUINE SANDER AND SONS' EUCALYPTI EXTRACT.

There waa one case of bankruptcy recorded in the Wairarapa for the month of December, as against one for December, 1904. During the year 1905 there were 11 oases. This is an increase of three over ! those recorded in 1904. There is to hand from Mr A. C. Scrimgeour, of the Club Hotel, Queen Street, a parcel of liquid refreshments, accompanied by cordial New Year's greetings. The staff heartily reciprocate the latter, and express full appreciation of the for- ■ mer. The passing of the old year waa celebrated fn a very quiet manner in Masterton, probably on account of New Year's Eve being Sundajr* night. Save for a few fireworks the younger folk, a little cheering and the strains of a couple of bagpipes, there was nothing to mark I the occasion. ,
