MAIDSTONE PARK.

-The "Wellington Gas Company held their annual picnic on "Wednesday at the Maidstone Park, under ideal conditions, there being- a large number present. Amongst the members present was the Chairman of the Gas Company, Mr. Kennedy. Sports were indulged in and some very fine racing was seen amongst the younger generation. The Wellington Harbour Board's picnic was held yesterday (Thursday) at the Park, a special train bringing them from Wellington. Glorious weather prevailed and a thoroughly enjoyable day •was spent. Presentation of prizes was made by Mr. T. R. Barrer, Chairman of the Harbour Board. Several picnics are now due at the JMLaidstone Jf ark, and Ivlr. Dalton has the grounds in excellent order.
