CABLEGRAMS TO OUR WOUNDED The'following amended instructions have been issued by the Telegraph Department in regard to communicating with members of our Expeditionary Force at the front : (A). Three free telegrams of inquiry about any member of the Expeditionary Forces reported wounded seriously or dangerously wounded or those officially reported to be suffering from disease may l sent if addressed to the Secretary of the I" General Post Office. The inquirymust be briefly worded and must be confined to asking about the condition of the wounded or sick person. Itmust conUin full infor mation for the idenlitioatiou of that p«r-.m, including rank, name, regimental numbei, and name of unit. In the case of the imvy the Christian name and surname of >lie persan, his rank or rating, his official or diyuional number, and the name of the ship 01 establishment. All enquiries concerning persons at the seat of war are made through the High Commissioner. The foregoing does not reter to soldiers report*' ) slightly wounded. (B) Anyone may send a week-end message on the subject of a wounded soldier, addressed—to the soldier himself; or to r private uerso.i. care of the High Commissioner, London. Week-end messages enquiring after the health of wounded suldieis, or conveying sympathetic messages for,them are free from the requirements of a minimum rale. The actual messages sent are charged for by the word as follows; To Kgypt, lljd per word To Malta, 9d per word To Great Britain, 8.1 per word Weekend messages maybe sent on anj day of the week, but they are not sent forward from the cable station nniil the Saturday of each week.
