(To the Editor.) TUAPEKA COUNTY ROADS. Sir,—The unfortunate capsizing oi a large motor lorry in the gorge between ttaes Junction and Stono House at once raises in the minds oi the ratepayers who have to use the main roads, the question as to when (since now is tho time) the County Engineer is going to make a start in filling' ( up some of the gullies that are only too frequent in the Lawrence-Roxburgh and .EdievaleRaes Junction portions of loading within the Tuupeka County. Has the engineer no definite scheme to work on ? If not, will Mr Edie admit that the whole question is beyond his capacity to deal with and ask the County Council to grant him outside assistance so that a scheme may be determined on to have the necessary work carried out ? For practically live months of the year the residents of Roxburgh and Millers Flat district have an almost impossible highway. I cannot imagine that Mr Edie feels proud of the result of his works but probably he has a reply which clears his conscience. As a ratepayer I should like to have his views.—Yours faithfully, FRED. GEO. DUNCAN.
YOU SHOULD BE DETERMINED In rejecting the worthless and frequently injurious counterfeits which are sometime* published, for the sake of greater gain as " just as good " ug the GENUINE SANDER AND SONS' PUKE VOLATILE EUCALYPTI EXTRACT. Be not deceived. SANDER'S EXTRACT is recognised by the highest medical authorities as possessing unique stimulating, healing, and antiseptio powers. The preparation cf SANDER'S EXTRACT from the pure selected leaves, and the refinement by special processes give it curative virtues peculiarly its own. Therefore, be not misled I Demand and insist uj on the GENUINE SANDER EXTRACT, and you will derive the benefit that thousands have derived from it before. When ill you could not depresi yourself more by the common, bulky, and nauseating eucalyptus oils and so-cal-led "extracts." Although they are advertised for medicinal use, they are fit for mechanical purposes only, and iome of them have proved bo injurious that a death has been directly ascribed to the effect of one of them, and the medical profession have warned repeatedly against their application. What you want is quality and reliability in small doge—and this you find only in SANDER'S EXTRACT. Owing to the number of medical men whose iervices have been absorbed by the military authorities, there is an enormous demand in theUnrbed Kingdom for women doctors, who now have the chance they have been seeking for more than half a century,
