STAR v. JUBILEE.

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—l wish to draw tho attention oi the South Tuapcka Sub-union to the rough play indulged in by one or two players in the above match on Saturday. As no doubt some of tho members of that Union were present they would see for themselves what occurred, and it is to be hoped that, thoy, in the interests of football, will take tho initiative a nd'ln'ing at least one player, who has been a soiirco of danger to opposing players for at least two seasons, before them and give him an opportunity to explain his methods o(f attack. It is a pity that .a team composed of gentlemanly players should havo their success belittled through the dirtv tactics adapted |by one individual, and

if the Club of which he is a member wishes to retain the sympathy of patents and the public in g"-.moral they will in tho future turn down tho player alluded to. Hoping the Union will see their way clear to investigate the matter and give the public an assurance that they are not in sympathy with a player who delights in " scragging." Thanking you in anticipation, I am, &'c, 15/7/12. OBSERVER.
