Emigration Question.
SAFEGUARDS IN AUSTRALIA. LONDON, April 19. Mr Coghlan, Agent-general for New South Wales, in a letter to the Times, in reply to Anstraliaai Correspondents' strictures, claims that the New South Wales Office in London has prevemted thousands of persons emigrating whose presence iri Australia would not be to the advantage of the latter. On the otiher- hand, thanks to'the business-like methods of the various States, thousands of excellent settlers had established themselves in Australia during recent years.
