PROBABLE VISITORS TO NEW ZEALAND.
j LORD ROSEBERY AND MR ROOSE- ' VELT. AUCKLAND, Sept. 21. It is stated on excellent authority '. that tihe Earl of Rosebery is planning , a visit to the Dominion, and ijl all j probability will arrive here in the early part of 1909. Lord Rosebery has long had a desire to visit the antip- 1 odes again, and he has no political , appointment to hinder his taking so lengthy a trip. He owns considerable < property in Australia, an additional reason, no doubt, for his proposed trip. , There is also a probability of Prosi- j ■dent Roosevelt visiting Australia and t New Zealand before very long. A pri- ! vnte letter recently received here sta- , ted that Mr Koosevelt was eagerly , looking- forward to paying a visit to . New Zealand, the progress of which . country he regaxnls as a little short of remax'kable." He is particularly in- i terested in the vaxious legislative >:x- i periments which New Zealand is maK- | ing— experiments, he say, which only ( a young country in the making couid afford to try."
