An attempt was made to dynamite a train conveying Sir A H. Fraser, Lieutenanl-Govenor of Bengal, and Lady Fraser, between Warayangar and Benapur. Several sleepers were blown to fragments, and a big hole was mad.c in the ground, but the engine was not derailed and no one was hurt.

A cylinder ot ammonia exploded on the wharf at Cairns (Queensland), and the Customs officer and two others were injured, having to be removed to the hospital. It is believed that the explosion was caused by the intense heat.

In the Magistrate's Court at Greymouth, a local firm of drapers sued a boy for 15s for breach of agreement in not giving one week's notice to leave his employment.
