WESTPORT COALBROOKDALE COAX. mHE Westport Coal Co. wish to bring to the notice of coal consumers the advisability of X using UNSCREENED Coal in place of Screened Coal for household purposes. Household Coal as now supplied has to be screened at the mine and te-soreened in the yards before delivery, but, if consumers would use the coal as it comes from the pit, these processes would be avoided and much expense saved. The coal could be sold at a considerable reduction in price. A great saving of coal would be effected if consumers would cover the fire bars at thebottom of their ranges with fire bricks. This will reduc a the draught, prevent destruction of the bars, and still give sufficient heat for all purposes. When the range is not being used for cooking purposes and the fire requires to be kept in, by backing with damp slack the fire will be. 'tent alive ; and, after the Black has caked, if stirred a good beating fire will be obtained. For steam purposes it has no equaL it is the most economical coal in the market.
