No protest shall be entertained unless lodged in writing and accompanied by the sum of £2, It the protest is considered frivolous tbe deposit will be forfeited. NOMINATIONS for all handicaps on first day, including Trot, close at 9.30 p.m. on FRIDAY, 31st JANUARY, 1902. Nominations for Trots to ba accompanied with pedigree (if any) and previous performances. HANDICAPS for the first day's races will be declared on or about WEDNESDAY, sth FEBRUARY, 1902. Handicaps for the spcond day will be posted up at the office of the Secretary at 9 o'clock on the night of the first day's racing. ACCEPTANCES for the first day's raciDg, and entries for the Maiden Plate, Military Race, and all handicaps on tbe second day close at 9.30 p.m. oa TUESDAY, 11th FEBRUARY, 1902. Acceptances for the second day's races dose an hour after the handicaps are posted. Farewell Dash Trot handicaps will be posted immediately after the Mile and a-half Trot is run. Acceptances close 15 minutes after handicaps are posted. Farewell Handicap weights will be posted immediately after the Steards' Purse is run, acceptances 15 minutes after weights are posted. After the declaration of weights, the winner of any handicap race of the value (as d' fined in Rul* 36 of " Rules of Racing") of £20 shall carry a penalty of 51b ; of from over £20 to £35, a penalty of 71b ; and of over £35, a penalty of 101 b. If the requisite penalties are not carried, owners will le held responsible. The winner of any handicap of £30 or over after the declaration of weights may be re-handicapped. All Nominations to ba accompanied by fees, with name, 1 ' age, and description of horse, and colors of rider— to be in the bands Secretary not later than tbe diys and the hours above mentioned. This Bale will be strictly adhered to. No dividend will be paid on Second Horse except in races of seven or more starters. No oash fielders or disqualified persons will be allowed on the course.
