The secretary of the Nokomai Hydraulic Sluicing Co, reports a return of 180oz 2dwt 2gr of gold for the month of December, 1901. The Upper Magnetic Dredging Co., which ia to work the Annie Que,en claim on tribute, is to receive two-thirds of the gold after expenses are deducted, and the Annie Queer* Co. is to bear the expenses necessary in shifting the dredge. The Upper Magnetic Co. • have to pay off debentures to the extent of £1,200 bearing interest at the rate of 100 per cent. , , . * James, Howlison, a well-known dredging man in Otago, has been appointed general ;■ superintendent for ths West African Dredg- : tag Syndicate, ft % salary of £1,500 per year. vTb» property of the Syndicate includes 150 miles of river as a claim, arid over this Mr Howlison will have jurisdiction.
