MORITZSON and Co., Dunedin, report (wholesale) as follows for the week ending October 9th, 1901 (all quotations subject to market fluctuations) : — We would ask farmers (when sending samples) always t6 pufe & price on them, us bnyefs do not feel inclined to make offers. Wheat.— The market is fairly active. Fowl feed is in active demand. We quote— Best vel- i vet 2s 8&d to 2a 9£d, best Tuscan 2s Sid to 2s lOd, medium 2s 7d to 2« BH, red chaff 2s lOd, fowls' wheat 2s 6d to 2j 7d for best. Oats are in good demand. Prime milling 28 4&d ; bright short 2* 3&1 to 2i 4d ; medium and inferior Is 8d to 2i 3d. Barley— Peed sorts Is 3<l to Is 6d, milling la 6d to Is 9d, malting 2j 9d to 3j, extra to 3s 6d. Chaff — We <jaofce prime £3 5s to £3 10s, aje-iium £2 10 J to £5 per top, Ryegrass — There is fair demand. We quote — Farmer-dressed, none offering • machinedressed 2s 3d to 3s per bushel. Cocksfoot, 2jf d to 3£d for farmers' lots, and 3£d to 4£d for machined, linseed £10 to £11 — wanted.pressed straw £1 5s, clover bay £3 ss. i Potatoes — £4 5s per ton. Rabbitakina— We offered a fair catalogue this week, when competition was good. We quote— Suckers and runners 3d to 4£d, summers 6d to 8&d, autumns 9Jd to ll^d, OUtgoinga, dhd to lO.Jd, winters 14d CO 16Jd, selected to 17d — 9al© every Monday. Sheepskins— We quote— Pelta 6d to Is lOd crossbreds 2s to 3s 6a— sale every Tuesday. Hides 3£d to 4f d, according to weight and condition. We have a special inquiry and can guarantee the very top market prices. Tallow— Rough fat 13a 6d, rendered 15s to 17s. Horsehair Is Id to Is 2d. NOTE — Country sales conducted on the most reasonable terms. Crown Sheep Dip, the best in the market, 4s 6d per gallon. We supply rabbit and sheep netting and quote specially by the mile. Agents for Newten'a patent woolpress, £13 — can be inspected in our stores. Closer, rape, and turnip seeds all freshly landed, prioe9 on application. Farmers' 4001 b Fairbanks Scales, £5 10s. Gibson's Cattle Brand— We quote 93 for small and 15? for large tins. Berger's red and black sheep-branding oil, 4s per gallon. We have erected a Crusher and Kibbler and are now prepared to crush grain and linseed and kibble peas and beans. Poultry — Wanted immediately 500 pair hens at 3* 3d. 1,000 pairs roosters at 3a 6d, and 100 pairs ducks at 3s 6d. Free of railage. Consign Department of Asrionlture, Dnnedin, marking crates " Poultry for Export."; FRUIT AND PRODUCE RSPORT. Butter, salt — First grade 9d, second grade Bd, third grade 7d, for milled and dairy butter. Cheese— Good factory 5i to s|d, Akaroa 4&d tosd. Onions 17s per cwt. Pies — For sizes up to 1601 b 3|d, over that 2|d to 3d— market firmer. Beeswax Is 3d to Is 4d. Honey 4d. Bacon s£d to 6d, good demand, middles 7d, hams 7£d toßd. Walnuts 4£d to sd. Butter boxes— s6lb butter bnxea with vegetable parchment lining 17a per dozen net on tracks here. Vickery's Egg Preservative 22s per case ; payment must accompany order.
