China is considering the offer of Russia to purchase the Petyang squadron, consisting of three first-class and several third'dass cruisers and four destroyers, for five million roubles, thus reducing the indemnity by that amount. Paris, September 27. General Vo'jron, who commanded the French forces in China, has returned to France. He asserts that Count von Waldersee was only nominally Command er-in-Chief, as the other Powers refused to obey him. Vienna, September 28 t Emperor Joseph entertained tie German troops returning from China via Trieste at Vienna. He gave the toaat of the Kaiser.
