LONDON AND SYDNEY WOOL SALES.

The London wool sales opened strong with a 5 to 7# per cent, advance on last sales' rates. Meears Balme and Co., Buxton aiid Ronald, and Jacomb and Con offered 11,643 bales, comprising a fair selection. There was a fall attendance, and strong competition from all parts, except America. Compared with the closing Bales in the July series* medium low crossbeds, fine merinos and fine oros&beds were 7$ per cent, higher. Extra fine merinos Bold at 10 per cent, higher. The Sydney wool sales reflected the London advance. Competition lor the finer olassee of merinos .and greasiea waa very keen. The market is firm, and advancing. The catalogue included a fair sprinkling of the new season's wool.
