Mokitzson and Co., Dunedin, i report (wholesale) aa follows for the week' ending June 26tb, 1901 (all quotations subject to market flaotutlions) : — We would ask farmers (when sending samples) always to put a price on them, as buyers do not feel inclined to make offers. Wheat. — The market is fairly active. Fowl feed is in fair demand. We quote — Best velvet 2s 6d to 2s 7d, best Tuscan 2a 64 to 2* 7£d, medium 2s 2d to 2* 53, red cbaff 2* 6d, fowls' wheat Is lid to 2d 2d. Oatfl are in good demand. Prime milling Is 7sd; bright short In 7d tola 7id,medium , and inferior Is Id to la 6£d. Barley— Feed aorta la 3d to Is 6<J, milling Is 64 to la 9J, malting 2a 9i to 3* ( extra to 3a 6d. Chaff— We quote prime £2 5s to £2 7s 6d, medium £1 15s to £2 2s 6d per ton. Ryegrass— There is a fair demand, and prices show an improvement. We quote — Farmer-dressed Is 3d to Is 64, extra clean and heavy up to la 9 i, macbine-dressed 2* 3d to 3s per bushel. Cocksfoot 2d to 2}J for farmers' lots, and 3i to 4d for machined, linseed £10 to £11— wanted.pressed straw £1 5»,clover bay £3 ss. Potatoes — £5 per ton. Rabbitskins — We offered a fair catalogue this week, when competition was good. We quote— Suckers and runners 3d to 4Jd, summers 5 i to 7d, autumns B£d to ll£d, early winters to 14d to 16d — sale every Monday. SlieepskiQs — We quote— Pelts 6d to Is 10 J, orossbreds 2j to 3a — aaie every Tuesday. Hides 3£d to 4£d, according to weight and condition. We have a special inquiry and oan guarantee the very top market prices. Tallow— Rough fat 12* 6 1, rendered 15a to 17a. Horsehair Is 14 to Is 2d. NOTE — Country sales conducted on the moat reasonable terms. Crown Sheep Dip, the best in the market, 4i 6d per gallon. We supply rabbit and sheep netting and quote specially by the mile. Agents for Newten'a patent woolpress, £13 — can be inspected in our stores. Clover, rape, and turnip seeds all freshly landed, prices on application. Farmers' 4001 b Fairbanks Scales, £5 10s. Gibson's Cattle Brand — We quote 9j for small and 15s for large tin?. Berger's red and black sheep-branding oil, 4s per gallon. We have erected a Crusher and Kibbler and are now prepared to crush grain and linseed and kibble peas and beans. Poultry — Wanted immediately 500 pair bens at 2* 6d, and 100 pairs ducks at 4s. Free of railage. Consign Department of Agriculture, Dunedin, marking crates " Poultry for Export." FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT. Butter, salt — First grade B£d, second grade 7&d, third grade 6^4, for milled and dairy butter. Cheese — Good factory 5d to s£d, Akaroa 4&d tosd. Ou>onß l2* per cwfc. Pips— For sizes up to 1601 b 3|J, over that 2£ 1 to 3d— market firmer. Been wax Is 3d to Is 4i. Honey 41. Bacon s£d to 6i, good demand, middles 7d, bams 7£d to 81. Walnots 4£d to SJ. Butter boxes— s6lb butter boxes with vegetable parchment lining 17s per dozen net on trucks here. Vickery's Egg Preservative 22a 61 per case ; payment must accompany order. We can offer a few pure bronze turkey cocks (imported) at 25s each here. We cordially invite all farmers while in Dunedin during Show week to inspect our seed-cleaning machinery in full working order.
