THE CRISIS IN CHINA.
London, June 21. Viscount Cran borne states that all the Powers have agreed to an indemnity of 450,000,000 taels. The " Times " Shangnai correspondent states that, according to high native authority, Germany, with England's consent, proposes that China shonld pay small amounts of the indemnity for the first 14 years, and increased amounts during the 26 following years. New York, June 21. General Chaffee's report on the Chinese campaign asserts that looting and the indiscriminate shooting of coolies caused distrust of the Allies. For one boxer killed fifty harmless laborers were slain, including not a few women and children. Hongkong, June 21. General Foyron, the French commander, has severely punished those who who were guilty of rioting in the British concession at Tientsin.
