TUAPEKA AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The ordinary monthly rueeLing was held on Thursday afternoon ; Mr Jas. Robertson (President) iv the chair.

Mr Black wrote on behalf of the Black family agreeing to come up and give a concert at a date to be decided upon in fulfilment) of the engagement for show night which had to be cancelled. —The secretary suggested that the Society should join with the Tuapeka Brass Band and engage tho Black family for race nights. Ho was in a position to say that the- Band and Mr Black were both agreeable to such an arrangement. — It was resolved that the suggestion be agreed to and that the members of the Society be asked to assist in making the concerts a financial success.

The secretary was instructed to dispose of the hurdles used at the late show to the best advantage.

On the motion of Messrs Cameron and "Williams it was unanimously agreed "That a hearty vote of thanks be accorded Mr Paton and his staff for the courtesy and attention shown to exhibitors bringing stock by train, and that Mr Paton be elected an honorary member of the Society.

It was decided that the Society continue to buy birds' eggs and heads.

The secretary was instructed to pay out the cash prizes, and the President and Mr N. O. Potts were elected a Finance Committee to Examine the trade accounts and authorise the same to be paid.

The secretary reported that close upon 400 entries had been made at the show and that the cash prizes to be paid out amounted* to about £118, distributed amongst 76 exhibitors.
