SERIOUS DREDGE ACCIDENT.

While working on the Boiling Stone dredge, Cardrona, on Friday, John Robinson, dredgemastor, was in the act of oiling the cog-wheels near the tumbler when his foot slipped, with tbe result that his arm was drawn into the cogs and completely minced up right into the shoulder, He was taken to the Arrow Hospital, where the arm was amputated, and where he at present lies in a critical state. His wife and family reside at Lawrence, and he was, before going to the Cardrona, employed as dredgemaster on the Tuapeka dredge. This is the third accident in a week on this dredge, one man having had his arm broken acd another his face cut.
