MAGISTRATE'S COURT, LAWRENCE. Tuesday, 28th April. (Before E. S. Hawkins, Esq., S.M.) civil case 3. John Fitzoebald v. Ann Fitzgerald. — Claim of £63. Mr Finlayson for plaintiff ; Mr Dalziell for defendant. — After hearing evidence, his Worship reserved his decision till next Court-day. M. O'Donnell v. E. Fitzgerald. — Claim of £4 10s. Mr Dalziell, for plaintiff, said defendant had paid £2 6s towards the claim. — Judgment was given for the balance, with costs (11s.) Several other civil cases set down for hearing were settled out of Court. WARDEN'S COURT, LAWRENCE. Tuesday, 28th April. (Before B. S. Hawkins, Esq., Warden.) FRIENDLY SUIT. F. G. Dalziell v. W. Thomas. — Friendly suit for neglecting to renew water-race license. — Fined Is in lieu of forfeiture. APPLICATIONS. The following applications were dealt with :— L. Pearson and another (Mr Dilziell) : Wat«r-race, two heads, from Gray's Creek to Campbell's Creek, near Post-office Creek.— Granted. Same: Water-race, three heads, from Campbell's Creek to Post-office Creek. Objected to by W. E. S. Knight (Mr Crooke), on the ground that he held a lioense for the race applied for. — After hearing evidence, the application was struck out. W. E. S. Knight (Mr Crooke) : Water-race, three heads, from Crystal Creek to Bolan's Creek.— Granted. James M'Cay: Water-race, three heads, from Hut Creek, half-a-mile below M'Cay's residence. — Granted. J. Kilgour and J. Williams: Water -race, two heads, near head of Timber Gully to Brandy Rock. — Granted. Ann Knight (Mr Crooke) : Branch-race from head of race held under certificate 1189 (14/4/68) to special claim at Parker's, Postoffice Creek.— Granted. Mary Snell Knight : Water-race, ten heads, from Cox's Gully, 20ft below battery, to Nor'west Creek. Objected to by See Kew. Mr Crooke for applicant ; Mr Dalziell for objector. After hearing the evidence of Messrs Beal and Carnegie as to capacity of objector's race, having a right for eight heads of water out of Lammerlaw Creek, the application was ad--journed till next Court-day. Kwong Sha and another : Extended claim (two acres), tail-race and dam near Waipori Bush. — Granted. PROTECTION. James Dunnet (Mr Dalziell) : Protection for tail-race in Dirty Gully, Blue Spur.— Granted for three months. SPECIAL CLAIM. E. A. Pyrke (Mr Dalziell) : Special claim, 35 acres, Carson's Flat, Beaumont. — Adjourned for survey. LICENSED HOLDING. John Lawson : Licensed holding, 59 acres, on line of Canton Reef, Waipori.—- Adjourned for survey.
