A GOOD STORY.
A good itory is told of the late Corney Grain. He had been sent for to give an entertainment in a country house by people whose birth T^as better than their breeding. When he arrived dinner being still proceeding, he was shown into the butler's private room instead of the drawing room. He promptly asked to be shown into the servant's hall, and, collecting all the servants who were free around him, gave them the best entertainment he could manage. As soon as it was over he called for the vehicle that had brought him from the station, and was just stepping into it when a footman appeared with a message that dinner was " hover, and the host was expecting him in the droring room." " Tell your master," he replied, "that as I was shown into the servants' apartments I naturally thought that I was intended to amuse the servants. I have given my entertainment and am leaving at once."
