CRICKET MATCH.

MILLERS PLAT v. ROXBURGH. The return match between t tie Roxburgh and Millers Flat cricketers taok place on the former's ground on Saturday last, and resulted in Millers Flat being again victorious, on this occosion by 65 runs. The teams were captained by J. lUartin and T. Thompson, respectively. The local men were very unfortumte in having to play both innings against a high wind, which made the bowling a matter of some difficulty and batting much more so. This was evidenced by both sides only putting together the remarkably small score of 11 runs euoh in their first innings. Although the weather still continued boisterous during the second innings of the local players, they were able to put 33 runs to their credit before they were all disposed of. Shortly after the visitors went to the wickets for their second innings, the violence of the storm moderated and, taking advantage of the favourable state of the weather, they succeeded in putting together 96 runs before their last wicket fell. At the conclusion of the match, the visitors were entertained at a banquet by the local players at Host Ormond's, where a most sumptuous spread was prepared for them. After full justice had been done to the good things on the table, and the inner man satisfied, toasts were drunk and songs were sung till after ten o'clock, when Mr A. Robertson proposed the health of the host, and in eulogistic terms thanked him for the kind treatment they had received at his hands. Mr G. Ormond, on his father's behalf, responded to the towt in a few wellchosen remarks.
