ASSESSMENT COURT.
The Board of Review of assessments under the "Land and Income Tax Act, 1891," met in the Courthouse, Lawrence, on Saturday forenoon. Present: Messrs Jas. Bennet (in the chair), A. Fraser, and R. M«Ara. The following objections were dealt with :— BOROUGH OF LAWRENCE. (J. C. Arbuckle, Valuator.) Athenaeum Trustees. — Assessed for section 26, block xlii., Lawrence, at £600 ; also for section 16, block n., £50.—.Valuations sustained. John Matthews Section 17, block xir., £200. — Valuation sustained. Tuapeka Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F. — Section in block xlii., £350.— -Valuation sustained. A. M'Keich. — Section 9, block xxvu., £250. — Valuation sustained. John Thompson. — Part of section 6, block in., £300; also section 3, block xliii., £100 ; also, part sections 7, 8, and 11, block xliv., £100. — The value on the latter was reduced to £75 ; the other two valuations were sustained. A. D. Wilson. — Section 13, block vni., and section 12, block xr., £50.-— Valuation sustained. TUAPEKA COUNTY. (James J. Gibson, Valuator.) Henry G-albraith.— Sections in block v., Tuapeka East, valued at £1774. — Reduced by consent to £1636. ! Same for sections in block \\, Tuapeka

John Honner. — Sections in block in., Benger, valued at £654 Reduced to £629H. Jackson, — Residence area in block xix , Tuapeka East. — Reduced from £48 to £16 by consent. Same for name. — Reduced from £32 to £25 by consent. Robert Ridd. — Section 10, block xn., Benger, £95; residence area, £10 j pastoral deferred lease, section 11, £164; occupation license, £35 — Valuations sustained in each case. W. T.
