MISSING FRIENDS.
Inquiry is made in ' Lloyd's Weekly ' for the following : —James Thompson, Railed xn the s s. Triumph for Wellington on 25fch September, 1883, and in May, 1887, wrote irom Greytown, Wairarap*. Brother Joseph.— Alfred D. Wood, carpenter, sailed for New Zealand ia the Oartvale on the 23rd June, 1874, and seven years since intended going to Australia. His aged moth -r and brother Joe long for news.— John Foid quitted Drury lane for Kew Zealand about nineteen years ago, and was last heard of at Canterbury. Brother Jeremiah. — Henry Jerrey anived at fHago 1861, and in his last letter from Canterbury, in 1870, spoke of going to the Cape. Sister Emma. — William Bacon sailed for New Zealand from Blackball about 1851. A nephew writes. — Anthony Appleton, formerly of Middlesex road, Dalston, sailed in the Ganges, for Auckland in 1862, and was last heard of as a volunteer at at. John's Redoubt, near Auckland. Sister Mary asks. — Jane Chapman, when last heard of was in Christchurch. Sister Annie asks. — Michael and Christopher Fay, of Dunedin, enlisted in the 2nd Battalion of the 18th Royal Irish Foot, and about 33 years ago were sent to New Zealand. Their sister inquires. — Henry Haller, went to New Zealand, and when last heard of on May 14, 1877, was master Colleen Bawn. Sister Annie inquires. — Frederick James, Walton-on-the-Waze, Essex, went to Brlbbme about 1862, and two years later wrote that he was going to the gold diggings in New Zealand. Sister Tilly asks, —Henry C. Ward left Camberwell, London, in August, 26 years ago, for Australia, and 12 years since wrote from "Victoria, after having been in New Zealand some time. Sister Mary asks.
