THE WETHERSTONES PROSPECTING COMPANY.

A meeting of shareholders m the Wetherstones pement Prospecting Company was held in the Town Hall on Saturday evening. There was a fair attendance of shareholders present; Mr B. Hart in the chair. Mr D. Garret reported that the shaft had been bottomed, at a cost of £102. Unfortunately, owing to the extrome hardness of the last 40ft, they had taken longer time over the work than he had anticipated, and they occupied the position of having aa empby treasury, and they were in consequence unable to test the ground by driving. After considerable discussion, it was decided to make a further call of £2 pW share, with the object of testing the cement by driving along the reef. ! It was also decided to approach the trustees of the Tuapeka Prospecting As- < sociation with the view of getting some pecuniary assistance, Messrs Hart, Fulton, and Browne being appointed to interview those gentlemen.
