OHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE. The following is the Corn Exchange report for week ending Friday, July 24th : — The new crops of wheat although backward are looking uncommonly healthy, and have come with regularity. There are large -breadths of autumn and winter sorts alreadj' sown, and from the strong demand for Tuscan seed samples, the indications are that sowing is still progressing briskly. Our markets are generally dull and objectless, wheat only being dealt with in a hand to mouth manner, and oats have only a weak inquiry, our southern neighbours doing nearly! all the export trade. Barley is dull at our quotations, although the quantity offering is small. Quotations as follow : — Wheat: Tuscan, 4» 3d; pearl, 4s 2d; Hunter's, 4s Id; chick, 3s 6d. Oats : Milling, Is lOd ; short heavy feed, Is 8d ; others, Is 7d to Is Bd. Barley : Malting, 2s 9d to 3s ; feed, Is 6d to 2s. The above prices are f.0.b., except potatoes. Sacks extra.
