To Reid and Gray. , Mosgiel, June 3, 1891. lhave just finished ploughing about 100 acres of ;,land with the Digging Plough that I got from you at the beginning of the seas in. The greater part of tbe ground was very bad with caueh grass, aud very hard, owing to the Jong continuation of dry weather. The furrow we ploughed was about 12in square : the skim coulters put the coach grass well down in the bottom of the furrow, and the depth of the furrow brought a fine lot of soil on to the top, making a fine seed bed— a good deal better than ever I expected. I have found the Patent Steel Point a great improvement where the ground is so hard and dry, being able to turn them upside down, always making the plough keep a good hold of the ground. I have found that the squarer you plough the better —that is, keeping as deep as broad. lam very well satisfied with the plough, as it is bo easily handled. i(^igned; SAMUEL YOUNG.
