TUAPEKA HOSPITAL BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the above Board was held at the County buildings on Friday evening. Present : Messrs Bennet (Chairman), Michael, Johnston, and Livingston. NOMINATION OP PATIENTS. After an examination of the names and number of destitute admission-tickets issued since last meeting, the opinion was expressed that more stringent regulations would require to be made to prevent imposition, as the number had grown out of ajl proportion, several of the cases being open to grave doubt; while in one instance a person being now in the hospital as a destitute person was stated to be in easy circumstances and without encumbrance of any kind. In this case, the Secretary was instructed to write to the nominator asking why he gave a destitute patient's ticket, the applicant being in good circumstances at the time, also to demand payment forthwith from the patient referred to.
