Report for the week ending Friday, February 28th, 1890:— The bulk of the harvest is now safe in stack, and the small proportion still out will be carried in within the next few days. FarI mere oan congratulate themselves on the exceptionally favourable weather , prevalent | during harvest time. Wheat: A. steady demand for old afc late prices continues, but buyers are chary of making large purchases of i new until more time has been given for the i maturing of the grain in stack ; we may ex* pect this disinclination to purchase to prevail. Oats (old) are not offering in any 1 quantity, and there are no buyers of o«w, '
except ab priced which g'owcrs will not ao" cept ; it is difficult to pred'et what will be >he ultimate outlet of this oercal. Bariey : Samples are offering mure freely, but there in a difficulty in doing business, as buyers and sailors' ideas of values have not como together. The following are- our week's quotations :—: — Wheat.— Tuscan, 2s lOd t■ 2s lid ; pearl, 2s 9d ; Hunter's, 2s 7d to 2s 7*d. Oat*.— Milling, Is 6d ; short stout feed, Is id to Is sd.
Barlov.— Prime milling, 3b 3i t-> 3s 61; medium, 2s 6d to 3s ; feed, Is 9d. Thu abuve quotations areihose paid to farmers for delivery, t : .0.b., sacks extra.
