Arbuokle's sale at his rooms— Clover and ryegrass chaff and potatoes, at 3 p.m. Entertainment in aid of St. Patrick's school, Town Hall, at 8 p.m. Tenders close for carting oats from near Athenaeum Reserve to Lawrence. Friday, 18th March. Mr John Thompson's sale on the premises, Law* rence— T. Wilson and Co.'s stock of groceries, &c.; also, freehold properties in town and suburbs, at 11 a.m. Meeting of Committee of Horticultural, Poultry and Bird Society, Town Hall, at 7 p.m. Saturdat, 19th March, Mr J. C. Arbuokle's sale at his rooms— Mr T. Fahey's farm, Tuapeka West, at 2 p.m. Scndat, 20th March. Services in Wesleyan Churches at Lawrence, Blue Spur, and Waipori. Mondat, 21st March. Mr J. C. Arbuckle's sale on the premises— Mrs Towsey's valuable furniture and effects, at 1 p.m. Mr J. C. Arbuckle's next sale at his Lawrence yards takes place on Tuesday, 29th instant. Meetings of landowners to arrange simultaneous work to suppress the rabbit nuisance ia various parts of the County are called by Inspector Miles. The Speargrass Hotel and farm, Bold Hill Flat, is for private sale. The sale of Mr M'lnnes's farm, sheep, &c, takes place on the 24th instant. (John Thompson, auctioneer.) A special order of the Tuapeka County Council re loan under Local Bodies Loan Act is advertised. A meeting of Joseph Tait's creditors will be held in the Assignee's office, Lawrence, on Saturday, 19th instant, at 2 p.m. The Little Dustpan's quotations for crockery, ware, &c., are worthy of perusal. Mr Parntt, the well-known draper, will have a large consignment of autumn and winter goods to hand in a few days. County ratepayers in arrears are again reminded that they will be proceeded against unless their rates are paid before the 31st instant. Mr F. H. Leigh has started business as a hairdresser in Lawrence, having secured premises in Boss Place, opposite Herbert and Cos. A supply of tobacco, cigars, &c, kept in stock.
