A REMEDY FOR SEA-SICKNESS.

A correspondent of the New York " Evening Post " tells how to escape seasickness on an <>cean voyage. He says : 4< I should be laughed at if I claimed to have found a sovereign remedy for seasickness. I do cl.uin, however, to have found a remedy, which so f.ir has been sovereign in my own case, and my case hereof ore has been desperate ;it may be considered worthy of a trial. All that is needed is self-control; preserve that for live minutes and yon are saved. With the first approach of the enemy there cumea invariably a bracing up of the nerves and muscles against him. If at that time the patient will examine himself, ho will find that he has unconsciously stiffened all his chest and abdominal muscles. Now that ia exactly what he must not do, and he must do exactly the contrary. When the first symptoma are felt, undo everything that coufines the waist; do not lie down, but remain quietly seated, and let your whole frame and structure respond easily and freely to the motion of the vessel, even adding swing and sway by your own effort. The stomach will soon grow accustomed to the noveliy of the thing, and you will soon be knowing to the full tho joy of the perpetual restlessness of the ocean's life; huve faith and you will be successful. There may be moments when you think the next will be your last; but it won't; and the victory once won, your triumph will be enduring. The whole process is the best example of conquering through yielding that the physical world has so far shown."
