Hbr days have been numbered for Queen Victoria, by an alleged oracle, who seta the date of her death September 10, 1889 ; she ia, this seer says, to die by or in consequence of a fire. The Russian czar has tin 1900 to settle his earthly affairs ; Bismarck till May 30, 1890, and the German emperor the July foUowing. The Shabpbninq of Tools.— lnstead of oil, whioh thiokens and smears the stone, a mixture of glycerine and spirit is recommended. The proportions of the composition, vary according to the olass of tool to be sharpened. One With a relatively large surface is best sharpened w;th a clear fluid, three partß of glycerine being mixed with one part of spirit. A graver having a small outting surface only requires a small pressure on the stone, and in such oases the glycerine should be mixed with only two or three drops of spirit.
