WARDENS COURT, LAWRENCE.

The following business was transacted at yesterday's sitting of the Warden's Court, W. H. Revell, Esq., presiding : — Ah M;h and party applied for an extended claim at Bakery Point, Waipori. —Granted. Charles M'Lean applied for protection for three months for his extended claim ad Waipori. — Refused, there be ; ng no appearance of applicant. J. Eitto and parly, Munros Gully, applied through their agent, Mr John Thompson, to raise and extend their tail-race. — Granfed. Ah Neck and party (for whom Mr Copland appeared) applied for an extended claim, water- race, and tail-race at Tuapeka Flat. — Granted. Ah Chung and party applied for an extended claim, water-race and tail°race at Woolshod, Glenore. — Granted. C. H. Henderson and party applied for an extended claim at M'Millan's Flat, near M'Comb's. — A clr'm 8 chains by 5 chains was granted. James Drysclale (by His solicitor, Mr liooday) applied, iov & *63i<3ence area at Eran'a Flat. An objection was lodged by Mr M'Coy on behalf of John Hogg. — The application was refused, the Warden declining to grant a residence area on the part of the mining resei /c applied for. Ah Yung, Ah lug and Ah Doon, who were charged last Court-day with mining at Waitahuna without a license, and the cases adjourned to enable the Chinese interpreter ,to be present, were dealt with. Mr Copland appeared for the accused parties, and Inspector Moore proaeouted. A number of miners' rights were produced, purporting to belong to the aooused, but the names given t o the interpreter by the Chinese did not correspond. The accused parties were convicted and fined 5s } costs, lls ; and interpreter, £7.
