Bttkxsidb Yabds— Wednesday. Fat Cattle.— 2l6 yarded— a email proportion only prime quality, the remainder medium and half-fat. Best bullocks brought £8 to £11 10s— the latter price for a few pens only of prime beasts ; medium, €7 to £7 17s 6d*; inferior, £4 10s to £6 17s 6d; cows, £2 17s 6d to £7 10g. Calves.— Eight penned, and sold at 11s to 17s. Fat Sheep.— Another glutted market this week, 3816 being penned, including 1125 merinof. The large supply following tho

over-stooked market] of last week ocoarioncd a further fall in prices of Is to Is 6d per head on all qualities except prime heavy crossbreds, which alone maintained their position. Merinos especially were in little demand at greatly reduced rates. As butchers have now fully a fortnight's stock on hand, vendors should, in their onto interests, limit supplies for a week or two. Crossbreds brought from 10s to 15s 6d ; merinos, 5s to 10s 9d. Fat Lambs.— l 39 penned. Owing to tbe short supply an advance was obtained of nearly 2s per head on last week's price?, the range being from 8i 9d to 13s.

Pigs.— Wright, Stephenson and Co. sold 71 as follows :— l2 b*3on pigs at from 57s to 625, 9 porkers at from 33s to 375, 26 stores at from 22s 6d to 30», and 24 suckers at from 9s to 225.

' ' Store Cattle.— Mr D. Stronach sold yesterday, the 95th, 40 medium to good stores at —for cows,,£2 5s to £3 19s ; bullocks, £1 2s to £5 17s 6d.

Store Sheep, — There are buyers for good merino and crossbred sheep of both sexes, and ages up to full-mouth.

Horses. — Wright-, Stephenson and Co. report as follows:— The entries for latt Saturday's sale were numerous, 108 head being booked. We quote first-claes draughts at from £27 to £30 ; medium, £18 to £23 ; good hacks and light-harness horses, £20 to £25 ; medium, £10 to £15 ; light and inferior, £2 to £5. Wool. — At a recent sale in Melbourne, 114 bales of scouted from Western Australia were disposed of. Tbe wool is described as of a bold tjpe and of a good, useful chara'ter, though rather tender and discolored — defects due to the newness of the country. The fleece realised 17i4, tbe broken 16d, and the pieces 15d per lb. Sheepskins. — Monday's sales were well attended, and although there was fair competition, previous rates were not reached. Dry crois-breds brought Is 5d to 3s 7d ; do merino, low to medium, Is 4d to 3s 10d; inferior pelts, Id to sd ; green merino, Id to 13d ; do do cross-bred, 13d to 16d ; lambskins, 8d to Is 4d.

Hides. — Fair demand for all coming in, as there are occasional buyers for pioked parcels for export. There is, however, no change in values, which are 12s to 15s for green cow, 14s to 23s for green ox, heavy weights up to 4*d per lb.

Tallow.— Little business doing, and prices depressed; good to prime rendered, 25s 6d to 26s 6d • medium, 22s to 24s ; inferior, 17s to 21s ; butohers* fat, 14s to 16s.
