An . inquest was held to-day on the body of a little boy named Murray, who was killed by being run over by a sand truck on the reclamation works. It was shown that he had got on whilst the engine was away, and when it came back, thinking the driver would catch him, he jumped off and fell under the wheelsi The wind at the time was driving the trucks along pretty rapidly. The announcement of the « Morning Herald" that, from to-morrow night, it will be brought out aa an evening paper has created a good deal of comment in the city to-day. It was quite unexpected by the general public. Several men, near Raikaia, in Canterbury, got a bottle of whiskey from an hotelkeeper before going out on a shooting expedition. The publican had drawn the whiskey offinajug, which had contained strychnine and had not been washed out. One of the men, named Thomas Fahey, has died, and five others were ill. Ada Catherine Ma.son, aged three months, was found dead in her bed in her mother's house at E\aikorai last night. An epileptic fit is the supposed cause of death.
