LOCAL SALES.

Messrs Ab_ttck_e, Robebxson and Co. report having sold at their yards on Wednesday, on account of various vendors : — Sheep : 1800 merino ewes, from 6s 9d to 7s 7d ; 120 fat sheep, f -om 12s to 12s 9d ; 16 rams, from 22s to 28?. Cattle: 10 head young cattle, from £1 15s to £3 7s 6d ; dairy cowe, from £3 12s 6J to £4 7s 6d ; fat cattle, from £7 to £7 7s 6d. A. buggy and act of harness brought £24 ss ; and sundry drays, farm implements,' &c, realised fair prices. Mr John Thompson reporta as follows :— My monthly aale of stock at Tuapeka Flat yards" on Thursday was' well attended' by buyers. The bidding for cattle, sheep and pigs was remarkably brisk. I was successful in disposing of upwards of 2000 sheep— all jarded, with the exception of a few merino wethera, finding ready purchasers. The pricea obtained were as follow :— Full-mouth merino ewea, 5s 7d to 6s 2d j broken- mouth do., sa ; cross-breds, from 8s 6d to lls 6d ; fat sheep, 10s 6d to 14s 3d ; merino lambs, 7s Id. I also sold 16 full-mouth Leicester rams (from Greenfield Station) at £4 each ; also, 17 on behalf of Mr J. Cameron, at £2 10s each ; and 7on behalf of Mr John Rose, at £2 each. Twenty-five old merino rams brought ]la each. A few head of cattle found purchasers at prices as under :— Fat cattle, from £3 to £5 per head | stores, from £2 2s to £4. Young pigs brought from 15s 6d to 30a each.
