The • Daily Times " of Monday says that the grain market has been very quiet during the week, and wirh very few transactions ; rates are little more than nominal. We quote primo milling wheat 4s to 4s 2d per bushel, according to sample and description. Oats are dull at Is 10M to Is lid per bushel for best milling, and Is 9d to Is lOd per bushel for bright stoufc feed. Mailing barley his been sold at 4s 6 1 per bushel, and this is the only description for which there is any inquiry. CHRISTOHTTHCH CORN EXCHANGE. Report for the week ending Friday evening, the2Brd inst.:— A slightly increased activity has been experienced in the grain market during the pa9t week, " (hough still not on a very extensive scale." Fi>r sound milling wheat there has been an improved demand, a few purceis having changed hands at current rates. In oats there is not much doing, holders being firm in refusing to entertain any price under their limits. Owing to the lateness of the season there is some difficulty in obtaining good sound potatoes, consequently a slight advance in price is being offered. Wheat. — Sound milling, 3s 9d to 43 per bushel (delivered at Christchurchj ; second [quality, 3s 3J to 3s Gd ; chick wheat, Is lOd to 2s 8 J per bu hel. O<itß. —Prime milling, 23 Id to 2a 2d per bushel (f.0.b.) ; bright abort feed, Is Hi to 9s ; inferior and discoloured, Is 8d to Is 10.1 per bushel. Barley. — First-class malting, 4s lo 4,3 3d per bushel j second quality, 3s 6d to 3s 8d ; feed, Is lid to 2s 2d per bushel. Cheese and Butter. — 4sd to Sd for the former, and 6.1 to 7d for the latter, kegs extra.
