THE BRUCE ELECTION.
[By Telegraph.] (From our Special Correspondent.) Milton, June 29th. There was great excitement in Milton to-day over the election of a member in place of Mr Rutherford, who died a short time ago. The feeling was greatly in favor of Mr M'Donald. All kinds of conveyances were provided for the candidates by people working in their interests. The only genuine bit of fun, however^ was a big loaf (4ft high) exhibited in; front of GoodalPs bakery, on which there was a placard as follows: — " Mosley's big loaf for the Working Man." The following are the results of the polling :—: —
The majority in favor of Mr M'Ponald so far is 101. Returns -have yet'tb-coine to hand from Manuka- Creek, Hillend, Wangaloa, and Glenledi, but thesd cannot possibly affect the result. ; ; "
