Dunedin, April 29th. The Tararua struck on the Waipapa reef, near Toi-Tois, at .the mouth of the Mataura River, this morning. All lives are safe. The v essel is close in shore. The Hawera left Dunedin this evening to render assistance with Mr Mills, manager of the Union Company, on board. The news was brought by a sailor, who swam ashore. The steamer is insured for £14,000. She had twenty-five cabin passengers on board.
