FERAUD takes the, present oppor- . tunity of informing residents o'E the Northern Goldfields and the general public that his Facrory being replete with every convenience, he is now turnirig out an article not to be equalled. Mr. Ferattd has succeeded in producing AROMATIC TONIC v BITTER WINES which are not only agreeable beverages, but also have excellent medicinal qualities. The following is Professor Black's report : — University, Dunedin, Otago,. New Zealand. — — Laboratory. Class — Beverages." November sth, 1Q75. I have examined for Mr. J. D. feraud, of Monte Christo, Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonic Bitters, with the following result: — No. 827 is a sherry colored, and No. 828 is a port-wine red-color6d liquid ; . they are both perfectly transparent, showing the pnrity of the water and other substances employed in their manufacture. These two beverages have a slight acid chemical reaction, and possess 'an agreeable cool bitter taste, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the sacharine matter of the fruit of which they are the fermented extract. I have also examined tho aramotic and other flavoring substances ' used by Mr. Feraud in their manufacture, and from the proportions in wbich they are blended with the fiuit wine, they must be pronounced perfectly safe, and free from anything like deleterious properties. 1 consider this wine, therefore; an agreeable and perfectly safe beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their bulk of water, they will make a crood cooling summer drink JAMES G.
