The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (limited) have received the "following telegram from their London office, dated 3rd instant :— " Wool market is unchanged. Home buyers are purchasing freely, but continental demand is limited. Competition on French account is slu.igish. A good many second-hand parcels have been offered during the sales. The sales will close on the 6th instant. Up to date 87,000 bales have been sold. Tallow market flat. There is no speculative or trade demand. The supplies of town melted are heavy. Best mutton is quoted at 38s 6d ;do beef at 36s 6d. Wheat market quiet. Foreign arrivals heavy. Adelaide is worth 60s per 496 lbs ; New Zealand is worth 58s per 496 lbs. Leather market firm. Trade demand good. Best sides quoted at Is per lb.
