Hekrt. Driver (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) reports for the week ending 27th February, as follows : — The week's market to-day was supplied with 103 head cattle, 1100 sheep, and 610 lambs. Fat Cattle. — Although only a small supply came forward bidding was anything but spirited, and scarcely last week's rates were maintained: This may be accounted for by the very large number offered last aud previous weeks. Best bullocks realised from £8 10s to £10 ; do cows, £6 to £B—or8 — or equal to 25s per 1001 b. Fat Calves. — None were offered and demand limited, unless quality very good. Fat Sheep. — The supply was moderate, but was fully up to the requirements of the trade, and the day's sales do not show any improvement on, late quotations. Best crossbreds brought from 9s to 10s 6dj merinos, from 6s 6d to 8s 6d— or equal to l£d per lb for prime mutton. Store Cattle.— Quiet, well-bred bullocks are in moderate demand at from £5 to £6 10s for bullocks, and £3 10s to |£4 10s for cows. Store Sheep. — There is still a large demand for sheep of all descriptions, with few lots offering, at the following prices : — Merino wethers, 2, 4, and 6 tooth, 5s 6d to 63 ; do, full-mouthed, 3s to 4s ; ewes, 2, 4, and 6tooth, 6s t^o 7s ; do, full-mouthed, 3s to 4s ; cross-breds, 4 and 6 tooth, 7s to 7s 6d ; do, 2 tooth, 6s to 6s fid 5 do, lambs, 5s 6d. Wool. — We offered at auction yesterday afternoon a catalogue of 400 bales, which, with a few exceptions, were sold at an advance on the prices obtained at our sale on the 12 th iust., cross-breds being in much better demand. Scoured wools were also more actively competed for. Hides continue in steady demand at their current rates. Tallow. — We sold some prime shipping lots ; prices a trifle easier than last week. Best mixed, £32 ; fair do, £29 6a to £30 ; rough fat, 21s to 21s 6d.

Messrs Wkight, Sxephbnsok, and Co. report for the week ending 27th February, as follows : — Fat Cattle. — Only 103 head were yarded, but, as the trade had full supplies in hand, there was great difficulty in making sales, even at a reduction on former rates, and about 25 were turned out unsold. We sold, on account of Messrß James Allan, D. M'Donald, and F. Manson, 60 head. Bullocks brought from L 7 10s to L 10;1 0; cows, from L6to L 7 103— equal to 22s 6d per 100 lb for best quality, and 20s for medium. Fat Lambs.— 6ll were penned, which being rather a large supply, we have to quote a reduction of fully Is 6d on last week's rates. We sold 378 at from 6s to 8s 6. Privately we sold 150 at equal to market rates. Store Sheep. — There is still an active demand for all classes of stores, particularly young merinos, of which there is scarcely any in the market. We quote cross-breds, 4 and 6-tooth, 7s 6d ; do, 2-tooth, 6s 6d ; do, lambs, 6s; merino wethers, 2, 4, and 6-tooth, 6s; do full-mouthed, 4s ; do ewes, 2, 4, and 6tooth, 7s ; do full-mouth, 3s to 4s, At the above quotation our sales during the past week have been as follows :— 8720 merinos, and 3000 cross-breds. Horses. — There ia a good demand for heavy draughts and good strong coach horses. At our yards on Saturday, the trade was almost confined to dealers' lots, of which a few changed hands. We sold a draft of heavy colts, on account of Mr William Puddy, at from L 35 to L4O. We quote heavy draughts at from LSO to L6O ; medium do, L 35 to L 45 ; light do, L 25 to L3O. Good saddle and light harness horses at from L 25 to L3O ; medium, Ll2 to L2O ; light and inferior, L 5 to LlO. . Grain. — None of this season's wheat being yet in the market, it is difficult to quote values, but it is generally supposed prices will open at from 43 3d to 4s 6J per bushel for good samples. Oats are in good demand. We quote [milling (old) at 3s 6d per bushel : feed, 3s sd. New are offering sparingly at 3s Id to 3s 2d. Barley is m fair request, but very little offering.

Maclean Bbothebs report for w^eek ending 27th February, as follows, :^ Fat Cattle.— lo3 head of fair quality came forward for the week's supply, but on account of the trade having large supplies on handf rom the previous week", there was little demand even afc'very low prices, consequently about 40 head had to be field over- Best bullocks brought from £8 10s to £10 ; medium (light), £6 10a to £7— or equal to 25s per 1001 b for primd quality, and' 2o* to 22s 6d for medium. At above quotations we sold 20 head. ' Fat Sheep.— lo9B medium to good were penned, for which there was fair competition

at about last week's rates. Beat oross-breds brought 9s to 10s ; medium, fo 6d to 8s 9d ; a small draught of merinos brought 8s 3d. Station Property, Ac. — We beg to report having sold the' Waipori Station, 1500 acres freehold and 12000 acres leasehold, with _ 13000 mixed sheep and lambs, and 200 head cattle ; also;" the Waipori Farm 555 acres freehold, with stock, implements, &c, on account of Messrs Cable and Drummond, to Charles Turnbull, Esq., at a satisfactory figure. Country Sales. — On 26th instant we held a sale at Sandymount, of dairy cattle, horses, &c. The attendance was not large, and b'dding was devoid of spirit. Cowa of good quality brought £7 10s to' £9 ; mixed sheep, 8s 3d each. 'Sheepskins. — A small catalogue was submitted by us on the 22nd, and prices were well maintained. Cross-breda brought from 23 9d to 5s 6d ; merinos, 2s to 'ss ; and in bales, up to 7Jd per lb. Pelts, 4d to Is 3d each. Grain. — Wheat : We have no sales of new grain to report. Small parcels are, however, arriving in excellent condition. Old crop is exceedingly slow of Sale. Quotations nominally 4s to 4s 6d. Fowls' feed, 3s to 3s 6d. Old oats continue to meet with steady demand at 3s 3d to 3s 4d for good feed, up to 3s 6d for milling. Portions of the new crop are now coming to hand in splendid condition, but no sales of any consequence have ' transpired. Barley is in moderate inquiry at 3s to 38 6d,for feed and milling, and up to 4s 6d for prime malting.
